Hello!

My name is Harry, and I am a passionate and experienced Disability Support Worker dedicated to providing personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities in Brisbane.

With several years of experience in the disability sector, I have developed a deep understanding of the unique needs and care required by individuals with disabilities. My goal is to empower each person I support to live their best life, with dignity, independence, and confidence.

Furthermore, I understand the importance of neuroaffirming practices in promoting self-acceptance, self-advocacy, and overall well-being. I am committed to providing supportive and affirming care to individuals of all neurodiverse backgrounds.

Over the years, I have consistently put in the work to further develop my skills and understanding, to assist at-risk individuals. As a result of this, I have acquired relevant First Aid Certificates, the completion of the QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Program and Premium Health’s Assisting Clients with Medication: Face-to-Face Training and Assessment Program. All of which are compliant with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). I have also worked closely with those diagnosed with aphasia and experience speech and comprehension disabilities; consequently, I have learnt to adapt communication skills with people managing acquired brain injuries.

As well as obtaining my NDIS Worker Screening card and Blue (Working with Children) card, I also hold various National Disability Services certifications that demonstrate my commitment to delivering high-quality care, including:

  • Acquired Brain Injury

  • Subcutaneous Injections

  • Complex Bowel Care

  • Urinary Catheter Management

  • Diabetes for Disability Support Workers

  • Practical Diabetes

  • Managing Diabetes

  • Introduction to Epilepsy for Disability Support Workers

  • Manual Handling for Disability Support Workers

  • Infection Control

  • Human Rights and You

  • Advanced Mealtime Management

On a personal note, I am a people person who values my relationships with family and friends. In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy surfing, rock climbing, or cheering on the Brisbane Lions (if that’s not your team, please don’t be deterred. We can still get along. Keep reading!)

I am also a creative at heart, with a passion for reading, music, and exploring new hobbies. I believe that life is about balance, growth, and connection – and I strive to bring these values into my work.
